Cupid’s Hunt (2016) FAQs…

Here is the FAQ (“frequently asked questions”) page about the Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Collaboration Event. This information will always be available at the above URL…

Q1. What is “Cupid’s Hunt”?

A1. “Cupid’s Hunt” (or CH for short) is a collaboration project of music podcasters and music fans in celebration of Valentine’s Day. On this day all of the people who are participating have agreed to release and make available for download (in MP3 format) or streaming a music and/or audio podcast with a Valentine’s Day theme. This year Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2016) is on a Sunday.

Q2. Why the name “Cupid’s Hunt”? What does *that* mean?

A2. The name Cupid’s Hunt came out of a late night/all night brainstorming session on Twitter back in January, 2008. “Cupid”, the symbol of Love/Valentine’s Day and “Hunt”, meaning to search for. When you put them together and apply the phrase to the world of podcasting you have a search for music online. Or, as the CH project was originally subtitled: “Searching for Love Music… In All The Right Places!”

Q3. Oh OK, now I get it. How do I get involved with the Cupid’s Hunt project?

A3. That’s easy! Just make a music and/or audio podcast with a Valentine’s Day theme: good love, bad love, want love, hate love… it doesn’t matter, go where ever your creativity and musical tastes take you. Once your CH podcast is finished we want you to post it online on (or just before -OR- even just after) Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14, 2016.

Q4. How will readers who visit my site know my podcast is part of this project?

A4. Glad you asked! There are several ways that your readers will associate your podcast with the Cupid’s Hunt Collaboration Project:

1. We have a Cupid’s Hunt logo available (email me (see below) for the download info) that we are asking you to post on your site at least one week prior to the event. (NOTE: the updated 2016 CH graphics should be available… soon)

2. Each participant is asked to start off the Title of your CH post with “Cupid’s Hunt:”, and to also tag their CH post with the keywords “CupidsHunt” and “CH9″. (no quotes on the keywords or the phrase in your post Title, of course).

3. The Cupids Hunt Podcast Collaboration page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CupidsHuntPodcastCollaboration), is the official Cupid’s Hunt ‘Headquarters’ and will be promoting the event and all of the podcasters/blogs involved in the days leading up to the event. Additional management and promotion of the event will occur on the Rhythms In Black Satin II website at http://RhythmsInBlackSatin.wordpress.com

4. Cupid’s Hunt also has a Twitter account ( http://twitter.com/CupidsHunt) that we are asking you to follow for updates about the event and/or to get any questions that you might have answered about the event.

Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Collaboration Event: 2015…

8 Consecutive years!

Not bad for an idea hatched late at night, online among (relatively speaking, at the time) a bunch of strangers who had a common love for music and technology. Eight years later we still get together on and around Valentine’s Day to share our love of music on the day dedicated to LOVE.

Once again, the Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Collaboration event has had great interest and participation and some excellent music podcasts published for your listening enjoyment. As I do every year, this master post (which, I admit is a little late getting posted) will list the DJs/Podcasters that have created music for the Event, along with links to their sites (or the services) where the music mixes can be downloaded and/or streamed for listening.

Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Event – 2014…

Hey, Kiddies & Kiddettes!

The Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Collaboration event is well underway! Now, I’m not going to bore you a detailed explanation of what it’s all about. I figure after 6 years the majority of folks out here already know that CHPC is the best place online to find love music mixes for your Valentine’s Day celebration.

With that said, let me list what we have available for you so far and what you can expect in the hours and days ahead…

This year, our 7th consecutive year of producing this event, is notable for a number of reasons. Cupid’s Hunt #7 marks the initial participation of a few folks (we *always* like to see that) AND the return of one of our past participants back into the world of podcasting (Whoo-Hoo!) New this year in 2014 are:

1. Calandra Branch – this talented lady can be found over at the Liner Notes Lounge and she has put together a Cupid’s Hunt mix she calls, “Moments In Love”. Even at this early stage of the event she’s already in the front-running for CHPC ‘Rookie of the Year’ honors.

2. Ann Marie – you all know her as “Soulafrodisiac” from the many, many properties she manages online. Finally, after years of trying we got her to agree to join the Cupid’s Hunt event. We are so happy she did. Her main site is at Soulafrodisiac.com and her Cupid’s Hunt mix will be featured on her Sunday radio show Fullasoul Music.

3. Bama LoveSoul – they’ve been “decreasing your hard drive space since 2008” and now they want to decrease it some more by creating a Cupid’s Hunt podcast mix. They can be found over at BamaLoveSoul.com.

4. Belinda Wisdom – a friend of the “Sensei” (although we won’t hold that against her {smile}), Belinda’s another newcomer to our musical party. She’s put together an impressive playlist for folks to enjoy. Please give it a listen. Her mix is being distributed via EJ’s site.

Welcome all!
Our returnee, after a long absence from the world of podcasting is:

Angel Monique – you may remember her from Soul Confessions After Dark Radio which has been quiet for a few years now. Well, she’s coming back to podcasting and she’s chosen this year’s Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Collaboration event as her coming out party. We couldn’t be happier.

OK, this is getting a bit wordy. Let me list the mixes that are available now and at the same time encourage you to keep checking in here on the new RIBS website -OR- also over on the Cupid’s Hunt Podcast Collaboration page for more and more mixes as they are released.
